Tributaries

A visit to MLK Park afforded us the opportunity to see how little rivers form and contribute to larger streams. This unnamed rivulet feeds into nearby Rocky Branch.

Decomposition in Action!

Our little scholars got to observe nature reclaiming matter:
We found a dead grasshopper at our door this morning. Later, we picked it up and moved it near an ants' nest. We saw one ant discover. Later, a trail of ants began going to and from the insect carcass. On our last visit, this grasshopper was covered with ants! This is how animals go back into nature.

First Day of School!

Our student is working on reading, writing, and math in his practice/handwriting notebook. In math, he discovered that adding 1 to another number equals the next number. We also talked about the word "brother," which is a boy with the same parents as you.
